PHNOM PENH — Cambodia is well on its way to establishing Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Associations in all its cities and provinces, Vice President of the UFCDK (Cambodian United Front for National Construction and Defence) Min Khin has said.
Min Khin revealed the plan to Vietnam News Agency reporters in Phnom Penh yesterday.
At a meeting with visiting Vice President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and President of the HCM City Fatherland Front, Tran Thanh Long, Min Khin said after one year, the UFCDK had completed the framework for branches in all of Cambodia’s 24 cities and provinces.
Recently, UFCDK chapters in provinces close to Viet Nam had burgeoned ties with the Fatherland Front chapters in Vietnamese provinces, and received aid from Viet Nam, he said.
Long and Min Khin agreed to boost co-operation between the Fatherland Front of Viet Nam and the UFCDK in the future.
During Long’s visit, HCM City’s Fatherland Front granted the Vietnamese Association in Cambodia money to build five charity houses for poor Vietnamese living in Cambodia. — VNS
