Vietnamese youths welcomed Saturday a delegation of Cambodian counterparts for a friendship get-together in Ho Chi Minh City.
The opening ceremony of the gathering was held at the Student Cultural House and attended by the secretary of the Vietnam Youth Union, Nguyen Van Thuong, and central committee member of the Cambodian People’s Party and president of the Cambodia Youth Association, Men Kuon, besides the head of the HCMC people’s committee and 120 members from the two nations.
Addressing the ceremony, Thuong expressed happiness at the expansion of relations between the Youth Union in the two countries.
“Vietnamese youths will do their best to further consolidate and enhance this friendship,” he promised on behalf of his organization. He also presented souvenirs to the visitors.
The get-together, to run until Friday, will also feature seminars on youth meetings, a visit to the Hoa Binh Children’s Village, exchanges with local youths, and trips to several historic sites.
