Its the best possible start Indian Football Coach Bob Houghton could have asked from his team on Friday night as they blanked Cambodia 6-0 in the opening game of the 2007 ONGC Nehru Cup at New Delhi's Ambedkar Stadium.
The Indians opened the scoring through N P Pradeep in the 16th minute before Captain Baichung Bhutia scored from the spot just before half-time.
But it was the second half explosion that would have pleased Houghton.
Two goals apiece from JCT's Sunil Chhetri and Mahindra United's Steven Dias set the team up perfectly for their next clash on Monday against neighbour Bangladesh.
The rival team is being coached by Former Indian Captain Syed Nayeemuddin, who ironically was Houghton's predecessor as India's Coach.
